The Providence Public Library is filled with signs of an authoritative nature. I wanted to bring a celebration of books to the library and to create dialogue engaging the patrons. I distributed these small “looking for” books throughout the stacks.
These photos are sketches for an upcoming project, We are Inspired. I plan on inviting RISD students to a photo shoot in which they’ll respond to prompts about the things that inspire them.
By filling out the prompts myself I learned which ones were easiest to respond to and incited originality. I also plan on tweaking the type size so that it’s easily readable and changing the background color so that the portraits pop.

This Christmas my goal was to only give gifts that keep on giving. For all of my cousins I made this mix CD that highlights my favorite remixes on youtube.
Remixes are a distinctly youtube phenomenon (pioneered by groups like The Gregory Brothers and Parry Gripp). And one of the greatest joys in the remix is not only discovering it for yourself, but sharing this gem of comedy with your friends. I shared all of my favorite remixes and immediately after the gifts were open my cousins started rattling off the names of their own favorite youtube videos. I love the culture of sharing that has recently emerged around youtube.
In a weekend workshop with Keetra Dean Dixon and Ben Van Dyke my group created this tape installation utilizing a window in the Design Center. The tape words on the window say “Come” beckoning passerbys to walk towards the light.
In Fall 2009 RISD’s graphic design department held its annual Halloween Extravaganza. What this means for the students? The ultimate costume contest.
All of the sophomores in graphic design were grouped into different categories (Architecture, Nature, Jewelry & Transportation) and asked to create a costume related to that category using solely cardboard, white paper and black trash bags.
I was placed into architecture and decided to make a ferris wheel entirely out of cardboard.
I got these silicone alphabet bake/ice trays about a year ago now, but no matter how many times I make cookie letterforms it never gets old.
